Home of the red and black Bulldogs, the University of Georgia is a large school with around 40,000 overall undergraduate and graduate students. It is credited with being the first state-charted university in America being founded in 1785.
It is located in Athens, Georgia which is only 60 miles away from Atlanta. The town of Athens is a new and upcoming city centered around music and fun. In fact, it is said to be the new, up and coming Nashville, providing a popular music festival which discovers new stars every year.
The best hotel to stay in when visiting UGA is the Graduate. It is a hipster-like hotel with rooms leading straight outside, a coffee shop that is open all day, and a swanky bar that has live music playing every weekend. A great place to eat in Athens would actually be at one of UGA’s amazing dining halls. They have all different varieties of foods, all the best quality for college cuisine.
The last thing that has to be mentioned about UGA is, of course, football. With a stadium that seats over 90,000 people right in the middle of campus, football is a major part of life at UGA. Sanford stadium is alive with vibrant red and deep black every time the dawgs come out to play. No matter if you’re attending a football game, eating in a dining hall, or roaming around the streets of Athens, the University of Georgia always gives off a major sense of school pride and a community one can help but want to be a part of.
