Archbishop Wood High School
I had always been very interested in the fashion industry and kept up with many models and designers through magazines and social media. It all seemed so interesting to me, but I had never thought that a normal girl like me could get into it. I was very busy balancing high school at Archbishop Wood and playing two sports there. However, this year I got injured and was unable to play those sports. I saw this as a great opportunity to find a new hobby. People had always told me that I should look into modeling, but I had never had the chance. So I finally hopped on the opportunity as it was perfect timing. I found a local agency called Streamline Model Management in Philadelphia and submitted some information and pictures of myself. Before I knew it I was signed by them! Very shortly after, I met with Major Models in New York and signed with them as well! It all happened so quickly and I still can’t believe it! Just recently I signed with MP Paris as well.
Coincidentally, I had signed with Major Models just a few weeks before New York’s fashion week. Fashion week is a big deal for everyone in the industry. It is a week full of runway shows and presentations of every designer you can think of. Believe it or not, my agents were able to prepare me for it quick enough so that I could get out there. Major Models told me before that this was the quickest they had ever sent a new model into fashion week. I was so new to the whole industry and couldn’t have been more excited about being able to participate so soon. I got to stay in NYC for three weeks to go to castings and meet different designers to get into the shows. I was fortunate enough to be chosen for seven shows and presentations during fashion week. My school was very excited for me to take part in this. They gave me all of my schoolwork before hand to take with me and I was able to stay on track in my studies.
In the print category, I just did a shoot for the May issue of Teen Vogue. I was so grateful and shocked when I got casted for the magazine! It was such a cool experience and I loved shooting with the Teen Vogue team! The picture came out super cool and I had a blast taking them.
I like that I can just be myself. Everyone in this industry has their own style and it’s super cool. I love that I get to express myself in so many different ways besides just using words. I get to constantly meet new people and try new fashion statements that I wouldn’t normally. I also love that I can have two totally different lives. One day, I am being a normal high school student and the next I am in New York doing shoots. The city is amazing, I love it.
My biggest goal is to be successful both in modeling and in my education. School is very important to me and I am an honors student. I will definitely continue my education and go to college. At the same time, I want to go far with my modeling career and continue being successful in the industry. I enjoy everything about it and look forward to what the future holds!
If you're interested in being a model, just go for it and follow your dreams! Modeling is such a cool experience. I am so grateful that I took the opportunity and went for it. You should too! Anything could happen!
